Transforming Your Healthcare career to be as Powerful as your Morning Coffee!

This is something you should care about since it can help healthcare professionals from discovering the benign cancer cell from a cancerous one. LMS involves technology management which allows for healthcare training. This kind of training is required for people such as healthcare clinicians and professionals to stay up to date with HIPPA laws, certification, and development in certain skills that affect you as a patient and citizen. Within this success comes from these kinds of systems due to its convenience and fast prospects of getting information quickly out from healthcare students to already established professionals.

In the nature of our topic today which is geared towards occupational therapy this fits into this career as it supports updated practices on hands on skills being used by occupational therapists. It also allows for the continuation of education through systems such as LMS. Certain certifications are required to be up to standard and renewed. An AOTA renewal is required once every five years for occupational therapists. Through this LMS allows for aid through a convenience in completing online courses and staying up to date. Major standout features in OT students are virtual patient simulations that allow for a student to put themselves into the situation that allows no harm or malpractice since it is virtual. These kinds of situations allow for more hindsight and understanding of a hospital setting. Cross setting accessibility allows for active OTs to check up and refresh on certain treatments allowing for constant information retention that can aid their care.

Within my future work as an OT I would like to pursue virtual assessments since

It would allow me to get used to the setting of how a clinical care setting would be and what would be asked of me. This I feel like done previous to fieldwork would help me get over some personal struggles of mine where I feel like I am underprepared and overwhelmed by the unknown expectancies. I think the given feedback as well would be important for me to improve moving forward as well.

With not everything being exceptionally perfect in this world LMS has its downfalls. Although it tries to replicate a perfect scenario virtually for people there will always be an unexpected outcome in real life. Therefore LMS should be more used rationally as a decision making helper than an exact guide. As well as not every situation can be tailored properly for specific kinds of therapy sessions that you may encounter therefore it is more of a generalized experience than a customized one. Another issue with LMS would have to be the complex navigation of a new system and what is required to get it up and working the way we want it to. It is attest more to the time and need when we aren't familiar with a certain program. Therefore sometimes it just does not work in our favor. Overcoming these obstacles comes with practice on the field through actual clinical hours required as well as hands-on learning in classes as well as trying to familiarize yourself with the program maybe through videos and trial and error.Another factor that can attribute to overcoming such drawbacks would be also working hands on with actual OTs who could guide you more efficiently in the actual setting.

I think as a conclusion LMS is an amazing tool, however that is how it should be treated as a tool, due to its linear path in teaching. In real life scenarios always lack linear teachings allowing for many underprepared situations especially if LMS doesn't accommodate the setting you will be working in it might even underprepare you more. I think with this thought process LMS should be considered as something helpful, but should be followed up with actual clinical hours and hands-on training rather than virtual training only. I as well think the development of LMS is still underway and could improve much more in the future, but at this moment I think it should mainly be used as a helping hand with understanding homework rather than an actual real life scenario based learning assessment.
